Ivan Tzvetin has traveled a long way from
his native Bulgaria, where he originally studied architecture
at the State University in Sofia. He later studied art at
the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, France. As an artist,
Tzvetin’s techniques include ink, pastel, mixed media,
linocut, monotype and etching. Besides art exhibits in Sofia,
Bulgaria; Mexico City; and San Francisco, Tzvetin has traveled
and shown his work extensively in Europe and North and South
America, Australia, New Zealand, Africa and Asia.
In addition to his artwork, he has continued his interest in
architecture and design on, winning awards in international
design competitions in the United States, Australia and Cuba.
He has also been involved in set designs for film and theater.
Since the 1980’s he has also worked as an instructor
in design for the University of California Extension, San Francisco.
His articles and project photographs have been published in
more than 15 countries in the professional and daily press.
