Hans Dolieslager was born in Leyden in 1950. He was a student
at the Academy Ars Aemula Naturea in Leyden with Fer Hakkaart
for several years.
Hans Dolieslager has spent many years immersing himself
in theDutch landscape around his home town of Goedereede.
The Nature Preserve "De Kwade Hoek" with its ponds,
vast fields and rows of trees are the inspiration for his
paintings, pastels and graphic art. His interest is not
in the exact rendering of specific locations - but in creating
the atmosphere, the rhythm and the ever changing color of
the landscape.
He regularly helps with with organizing and curating of
exhibits in his region, as well as lecturing in a course
on painting and printmaking on Dutch television. His work
in numerous public and private collections throughout Europe.
